The numbers to watch.

Out of all the numbers we watch—including stock market quotes and sport scores--that seem to boil down to what we perceive as success and failure, there’s one number that should rise to the top.

The concentration of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere should be as attention grabbing and critical to our lives as the other numbers we fixate on.

At this site (see below) you can find out what the present CO2 concentration is and pit that against historical records. It gives, for all the talk from businesses and countries lowering their carbon footprints, the real measure of their efforts.

One thing that emerges from watching this number is that the efforts of a few concerned about Climate Change must evolve into the efforts of billions.

CO2 Now | CO2 Home "What the world needs to watch | Global warming is mainly the result of CO2 levels rising in the Earth’s atmosphere. Both atmospheric CO2 and climate change are accelerating. Climate scientists say we have years, not decades, to stabilize CO2 and other greenhouse gases. To help the world succeed, CO2Now.org makes it easy to see the most current CO2 level and what it means. So, use this site and keep an eye on CO2. Invite others to do the same. Then we can do more to send CO2 in the right direction. "
